  • The First Glider is closed during adverse weather conditions like snow, rain, storm, etc. It is also closed during certain periods for maintenance from 28th-October to early-December. 

Best time to visit

For a summer adventure, visit between June and September when the weather is clear, and the panoramic views of the Eiger, Wetterhorn, and Jungfrau are at their best. You’ll also find lush greenery and alpine flowers along the way.

If you're looking for a winter thrill, visit from December to March to soar over a snow-covered wonderland. The Glider operates year-round, so no matter when you visit, you're guaranteed an experience of a lifetime!

How to reach First Glider Grindelwald?

Location: Firstbahn, Eggboden, 3818 Grindelwald, Switzerland

  • Get to Grindelwald: Take a Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) train to Interlaken Ost, then transfer to a regional train to Grindelwald. Enjoy scenic views of the Swiss countryside.
  • Head to the Gondola Station: From Grindelwald train station, walk 10-20 minutes to the Grindelwald Firstbahn gondola station in the village center.
  • Take the Gondola to First: Board the Firstbahn gondola, which stops at Bort and Schreckfeld. The 25-minute ride offers breathtaking mountain views.
